Laura Houston, front desk rockstar and blogger behind SomeThymes Paleo, shared this easy to follow recipe that will have everyone craving these guilt-free donuts.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Cup almond flour
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cacao
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
- 4 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt (or sea salt)
- ¼ cup dairy free chocolate chips plus a handful to top
This recipe will make 6 donuts.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 325 F
- Grease your donut pan and set aside (I use Trader Joes Coconut spray)
- In a small bowl, mix together your eggs and maple syrup and set aside
- In a medium sized bowl, add your remaining ingredients. Then, add your liquids and whisk until nice and smooth
- Fill each donut cavity half way and tap the pan a few times to get any air bubbles out
- Top with additional chocolate chips
- Bake for 12 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean
- Let donuts cool a minute in the pan and remove carefully, if they’re tricky to get out I’ll use an offset spatulate to help flip them out of the pan
