Recently, we added a new class to the schedule. One of our main focuses is to help clients build strength and confidence. Grit Fixx is the perfect class to do just that – we encourage clients to lift heavy, test their strength, and push their endurance to the max.
This class utilizes equipment not used in other classes. From kettlebells to battle ropes, you will be trying new things and getting out of that comfort zone while having a whole lot of fun!
There are major benefits of lifting heavy and incorporating compound movements into your workouts. We use a lot of compound movements within a Grit Fixx class because of the shorter intervals – you will get more out of 30 seconds when you are combining movements and using multiple muscles.
We had some of our instructors tell us why they love taking AND teaching Grit Fixx and why you should try the class if you haven’t yet!
Why we love TAKING grit:
- It really challenges me to dig deep and focus on the muscles we are working at each station. It’s a tough class but like everything else, you get out what you put in. -Carly
- Because 30 seconds is the perfect amount of time to push yourself past the point of comfort. Every station brings a different and unique challenge that motivates and drives me to be a stronger individual. -Courtney
- It totally challenges you in a different way; hold on for those 30 seconds and just push and most importantly breathe. -Jeanette
- I’ve always been a fan of workouts where you are able to pick up heavier sets of weight and push your edge, well Grit gives you that chance. The 30 intervals allow me to reach for heavier weights then I normally wouldn’t go for in a Row or Sculpt class, but at the same time the quick transitions mixed with all the different functional movements incorporated gets my heart rate up. Simply it’s a combo that I love. -Elise
Why we love TEACHING grit:
- Seeing the clients push harder and go heavier than they are used to is so motivating. This class really takes everyone out of their comfort zone in the best way possible. Go hard or go home!! I can honestly say, each of our clients push their edge and I love being a part of that. -Carly
- I like watching people surprise themselves and do something they never thought they could do. Watching people that used to be 5 lb weight type people bicep curling for 17.5lbs is inspiring. The 30 second intervals level the playing field and allow anyone to walk into the studio go heavier and leave feeling like a rock star. I think when people finish their first Grit class they leave with a level of confidence that is contagious. -Elise
Why you should TRY grit:
- Because GRIT is a class full of exercises that can seem intimidating but will show you how strong you really are. Unlike the other classes, Grit gives you three chances to crush each exercise. Didn’t get as many reps in as you had hoped? Try harder next round. Think you could go heavier because your arms don’t quite feel ready to fall off? Pick up a heavier set of weights. Grit is the perfect platform for personal growth and competition. With each new round you have the opportunity to try something different, to push yourself harder, and to make yourself stronger. – Courtney
- Because being fit means being a well rounded athlete. You can’t just lift. You can’t just cardio. Grit introduces your body to different movements and exercises that you may not see in other workouts. Also the 30 second intervals and low impact strength training allows everyone to be able to do it so the real question is WHY SHOULDN’T someone try it. – Elise
