Kim may very well be the most unsuspecting badass you have ever seen. She absolutely crushes class (especially sculpt) with no complaint. Kim is incredibly strong and determined, but composed like no other. She truly embodies the phrase “grit and grace”.
She always inspires both instructors and clients alike to push harder, go the extra meter and to keep getting stronger together.
How did you first hear about Sweat Fixx?
I live in Arlington and noticed Sweat Fixx when it opened and was interested in classes. I have a gym at home and at work that I wasn’t getting around to using as consistently as I wanted to and was looking for some classes for added motivation. I finally got around to it last October and have been hooked since!
What keeps you coming back?
The energy, the instructors and the community at the studio. I was hooked after my first class and don’t think I have missed a week since starting 8 months ago. It’s a welcoming and fun place and everyone there is motivated to challenge themselves and work on being stronger and healthier.
What’s one thing that you look forward to every time you come to a class?
Feeling stronger and having more energy after every class! Every class is different, challenging and fun. There are a lot of options as far as types of classes and the instructors do a great job of keeping the classes challenging and varied. I’ve taken classes at different places but there is something about the Sweat Fixx instructors and community that is different and it’s more motivating and engaged than other studios. If you are thinking about trying a class, this is the place! The community is supportive and involved so you’ll always see familiar faces at every class.
What motivates you to be stronger?
My father passed after a long battle with cancer at a young age so it’s really opened my eyes to making health and fitness a priority. I think it’s really important to take care of yourself and working out is so important for so many reasons- you never feel worse after a good workout! Seeing results mentally and physically after consistently working out is also a great motivator.
When you aren’t crushing it on the rower or mat, where can we find you?
Spending time with friends/family, travel, running trails or the beach.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Wine and Italian food.
What are you most proud of accomplishing since you first came to Sweat Fixx?
Being consistent and scheduling my classes ahead of time each week. Before Sweat Fixx, I wouldn’t plan my workouts as well and I have found that scheduling them each week helps me stick with my goals and make time for myself.
One tip that you would give to someone who is coming to Sweat Fixx for the first time?
If you are thinking about taking a class or looking for something new, this is the place! The community is supportive, the instructors are motivating and the classes are challenging. It’s not just a place that you take a few classes and maybe come back to. The instructors are involved and invested in the studios and community so it’s a place that will keep you coming back for more!
Anything else you’d like to add:
I had to take a break from law school last year because of a tough family situation/loss but am headed back part-time at the end of the summer so that will be taking over my life again nights!
