The phrase “strong like a mother” may have been coined for this girl. Colleen didn’t slow down during her pregnancy, teaching pretty much up until she gave birth, and she certainly hasn’t slowed down since Emerson arrived! She was back on those rowers as soon as she could be and brought her little sidekick along.
Her classes have a level of energy, fun and quirkiness (it’s why we love her) that no other Sweat Fixx class has. She will dance, sing and make you laugh all while kicking your butt and leading you through an amazing workout.
Sweat Fix is lucky to have Colleen on our team and if you haven’t been to one of her classes yet… what are you waiting for?!
How did you hear about Sweat Fixx and what made you interested in being a part of the team?
My sister Caitlin brought me to a Battle Fixx as part of a bingo competition and she needed the square. I loved Battle and started coming regularly to classes as another exercise outlet. When I heard Sweat Fixx was looking for new instructors, I decided “why not?!”
What keeps you coming back?
The community, hands down. Our clients are the best clients around and I truly mean that. When you walk into the doors, you know that everyone has your back 100%
When you aren’t at Sweat Fixx, where can we find you?
Hanging with Emerson and my husband. A lot of people have had the pleasure of meeting Miss Em and I love how much this community has welcomed her!
Where is your favorite place to grab a quick snack or drink?
I love me a good Bagel World bagel <3
Favorite guilty pleasure?
Trashy reality TV—Real Housewives, Siesta Key, 90 day Fiance—anything that I can just watch and zone out to.
What’s one thing about you, that people would NEVER guess?
I have a weird thing about numbers–they need to be even–like when you’re pumping gas or you adjust the volume on the radio. I also like to eat small things in pairs, like M&M’s or gummy bears. It’s just a weird little idiosyncrasy I have!
What’s one thing you are most proud of accomplishing in the past six months?
Keeping Emerson alive and happy, parenting is HARD AF. Trying to balance being a mom, a school adjustment counselor and a Sweat Fixx instructor isn’t easy but I like to think that I’ve been able to make it work.
One piece of advice you would give to someone who is walking through the Sweat Fixx doors for the first time?
Don’t give up and push yourself. You get out of the workout what you put into it. Challenge yourself to get one more meter, one inch lower, one more rep–you won’t be disappointed.
Anything else you want to add? Thanks for always putting up with my crazy antics and coming back every week for more!
