Kate has been with our Amesbury crew since our opening day and continued to such a big part of this community. She stuck with us during the shut down and showed up on the virtual workouts consistently.
Pregnancy did not slow Kate down, if anything… she showed up stronger and ready to put in the work – mask and all! This mom to be is committed to being strong, healthy and happy and we love having her part of the Amesbury crew!
How did you first hear about Sweat Fixx?
I was at Amesbury’s opening day! My dad is involved in Amesbury’s Chamber of Commerce and he let me know that there was a new fitness studio opening in town that I would probably like. He was right!
What keeps you coming back?
I have tried many exercise programs that I had to make myself do each day. Sweat Fixx is different. I want to go to class. I want the satisfaction of walking out at the end knowing that I did something challenging and my body and mind are better for it.
What’s one thing that you look forward to every time you come to a class?
I love that each class is different. You’re never going to take the same class twice. The unknown keeps it interesting!
What motivates you to be stronger?
I have always been motivated to stay fit but that drive has become even stronger in my pregnancy. It has been so important to maintain my physical and mental strength because there are many new adventures up ahead that I need to be physically and mentally prepared to face.
When you aren’t crushing it on the rower or mat, where can we find you?
When I’m not at Sweat Fixx, you can find me rooting for our New England sports teams or binge watching British dramas on Netflix.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Thank goodness for exercise because my guilty pleasures have really expanded over the last 7 months! I sampled caramel apples all over the North Shore throughout the fall and now I’ve turned my attention to cake. Life’s all about balance!
What are you most proud of accomplishing since you first came to Sweat Fixx?
I’m proud that I haven’t found excuses. It would have been easy to let the pandemic and pregnancy become reasons to slow down or stop. Instead, exercise has become the best outlet for both of these.
One tip that you would give to someone who is coming to Sweat Fixx for the first time?
It’s going to take a few classes to feel comfortable with the rhythm, pace, rower, proper form, etc. Ask questions and give yourself time to get adjusted. If you do, you’ll probably end up hooked like the rest of us!
Anything else you’d like to add?
Huge shout out to all of the Sweat Fixx instructors! Your energy is contagious. You lead without judgement, convincing us that we’re stronger than we think we are. Thank you for keeping us moving forward!
