We are thrilled to announce the new member of the month from Wakefield Isa Cusack! Isa is an OG Wakefield client who continues to show us that you don’t need to be super tall to be an amazing rower. She has been on numerous PROWbowl teams and is always pushing those around her both on and off the rower!
How did you first hear about Sweat Fixx?
After I stopped playing high school sports, I needed a different way to exercise. I hate running and just don’t work very hard at a regular gym, so I tried a couple of different workout classes and Sweat Fixx was the perfect balance of cardio and weights for me!
What keeps you coming back?
The instructors are awesome – every class is different and challenging, the music is great, and the community is so supportive and fun to be a part of.
What’s one thing that you look forward to every time you come to a class?
Being able to move my body (I work at a desk all day and do not stand up enough) and seeing what new challenge is in store for me!
What motivates you to be stronger?
Competing with myself and all the other strong rowers in the room – I’m very competitive 🙂
When you aren’t crushing it on the rower or mat, where can we find you?
I love cooking and baking, trying new restaurants and breweries with my friends, and I’m in an axe throwing league on Sunday nights!
What’s your guilty pleasure?
A really good margarita
What are you most proud of accomplishing since you first came to Sweat Fixx?
Being a part of the Wakefield pro bowl team – distance running has never ever been my thing so being able to row long distances in a competition is something I’m definitely proud of myself for (plus I’m 5’2” so I have to reeeeally stretch out those meters)
One tip that you would give to someone who is coming to Sweat Fixx for the first time?
Come to a GRIT class so you can try a little bit of everything, ask lots of questions if you’re confused, and have fun! It’s just exercise, who cares if you look good doing it!
